The soil making up a slope often has a predominantly arid matrix. Under these conditions it is necessary to ensure that an adequate thickness of top soil is provided to allow the growth of vegetation. As top soil has poor mechanical properties causing it to slide down o slope of to be washed away prior to the onset of the vegetative matrix geomats or geocells are used.
These geomats /geocells allow the soil stabilization even on very steep slopes.


As can be seen from the photos the mat is installed, filled with topsoil and then hydroseeded.
